About the Artist Sherry Kaskey graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University, in 1967, and later attended George Washington University, in DC. Her early career included freelance commercial art work, as well as gilding and calligraphy. She has won one award jointly with her husband, Raymond Kaskey, in Pittsburgh's Vietnam Memorial Competition, and a David Lloyd Kreeger Prize in painting. She has had eleven exhibitions to date, and is active in lecturing and teaching workshops. She is currently teaching watercolor and portrait painting at Washington's Smithsonian Institution. Her commercial art hangs in dozens of important venues from American and Georgetown Universities, and the National Cathedral, to the Democratic National Committee and the DC Mayor's Office, and from the US International Trade and Nuclear Regulatory Commissions, to the US Chamber of Commerce and the Federal Resrve Board Bank. Her fine arts works hang in many local DC and metro area collections.
